Alice | Winter going into Spring Bedroom Decor Inspiration

Hey guys!

So today I have a bit of a different post for you, i'm trying out something along the home decor path rather than the beauty path, I hope you like it!

This is my bedroom right now, its not perfect and i'm still adding a few finishing touches but i'm pretty happy with it now.

I always like to re-decorate around this time of year as my room always feels empty after I take down all my crazy Christmas decorations. I think its good to change your room up every so often because, if you live with your parents, its your room to express yourself and show your interests and everything so I enjoy changing it up and keeping it exciting so I don't get bored.

Tip 1:
Changing up your Bedspread

I like to go with a white bed sheet and pillow cases, as it makes it easier to decorate with brightly coloured blankets and cushions. My bedspread has some ruffled detailing around the top of the duvet cover and the sides of the pillows. I also have some bright pink pillows hiding underneath. My sheet is purple, as that is one of the main colours in my bedroom colour scheme. I have 5 different cushions at the top of my bed, they are all very bright and different shaped to keep it interesting. Feel free to tone it down if you wish.

Tip 2:
Keeping it Tidy

I used to be the worst person at keeping my bedroom tidy and it was absolutely awful and, quite frankly, I was ashamed. But recently I have been taking much better care of my bedroom. It looks so much better! I try to not leave clothes on piles in the floor, I suggest a washing basket. I have a red one from IKEA and its the best thing ever. Just put a basket in the corner of your room and, rather than chucking clothes on the floor, chuck them in there!

Tip 3:
Decorative Ornaments

In my little display above my blue chest of drawers from IKEA. I have these 4 block pictures that spell out Love, 2 hung up and 2 standing. Not sure where they're from as they're kind of old. On top of these I have 2 wooden animals that i've had for years, a little Eskimo money box and also 3 painted wooden letters of my initials in pink and purple. I think decorative ornaments are one of the easiest ways to spice up your room in such a cute way. You can put them on desks, drawers, windowsills, shelves and even bedside tables and they're also often very affordable.

Thanks for reading and well done if you got to the end! ❤

Hey guys!

Okay, let me start off by saying sorry. I know i've been completely rubbish and haven't blogged at all for over a month but I just haven't felt inspired at all. I've been pretty busy and haven't had the time to just sit and write a good quality post for you all so for that I am sorry.

But I'm back! I'm back, feeling motivated and ready to start again. Hopefully will be posting at least once a week but we'll see how this goes! Thank you for being patient and sorry for being rubbish at blogging!

Alice | Skincare Tips!

Hey guys!
Today i'm going to tell you a few helpful tips for clearer skin. Now I am in no way a professional and these are just a few things that I find helpful so I thought I would share them with you.

1. WATER!!
I never really used to drink a lot of water, but I started drinking at least a litre a day and I can't even put into words how much it helps, my skin started to look more hydrated, less tired and spots started to clear up. Try and drink plenty of water!

2. Never sleep with Makeup on
Now I know everyone always says this, blah blah blah, but i honestly can't stress enough how important it is to completely clean your face before you sleep. Foundation especially is pretty bad for your skin, even those ones that are supposed to clear up spots. I generally don't wear foundation because it just doesn't work on my face. So please, always take your makeup off before bed!

3. Try not to wear Makeup every day
Like I said, makeup is not great for your skin so try not to wear it when its not needed, if you're just popping to the shops, you don't need makeup on. Whereas, if you're going out for dinner, its fine to want to dress it up a bit. Also a small amount of makeup for school is completely fine, just not a full face of foundation, it will not help your skin.

4. Try to cut out Junk Food
Now before you say anything, i'm not saying you have to completely cut out anything at all unhealthy, because I know I don't, just try not to eat loads of oily foods like McDonalds and Pizzas, try and eat more fruit and veg because, I promise, it will do wonders for your skin, even if it sounds silly, it works!

5. Make sure you know your Skin Type.
Now this one is pretty important. You need to know your skin type, so you can be sure you are using the correct formula of Moisturiser and Face wash etc. Its pretty easy to guess yourself but if you aren't sure, see a dermatologist. For example, I know I have Combination Skin because I have an oily T-zone but dry cheeks and sides of my nose. If you don't tend to get dry skin but struggle with oiliness, its most likely you have oily skin. If you don't tend to get shiny but get bad dry skin (almost flaky) then you will have a dry skin type. When buying moisturisers and face Washes, make sure to check the label saying what skin type they are directed at. You may think it doesn't matter, but the ingredients and Formulas are designed for particular skin types and will possibly just worsen your skin situation if you use the wrong one.

I think that's it! I hope this helps you guys, even if it just helps one person, its worth it!

Alice | Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer + Highlighter Duo

Hey guys!
Sorry I haven't posted for a week, I went back to school on Tuesday so i've been pretty busy!
Anyway, today i'm gonna be reviewing the bourjois chocolate bronzer + highlighter duo {£7.99}

I use a real techniques cheek brush {limited edition to Nic's Picks set} to blend the bronzer under my chin, down my neck, in my temples, under my cheek bones and lightly down the side of my nose. I then take a real techniques setting brush {£8.99 in boots} and take the shimmery highlighter on top of my cheeks, down my nose, in the center of my forehead and a tiny bit on my brow bones and chin. I absolutely love this because the bronzer has more chocolate undertones rather than orange undertones which don't really suit my slightly tanned skin tone. The highlighter is very slightly shimmery and a creamy white colour, rather than pink toned which, again, I find doesn't work for my skin tone.
Overall I would say this product is definitely worth the investment and I highly recommend it.

Alice | Soap & Glory Brow Archery Review

Hey Guys!
Today i'm gonna review the Soap & Glory Brow Archery Brow Tint and Precision shaping pencil {£10 in boots}. I recently bought this and have already fallen completely in love with it. There are only 2 shades of this product {'Brownie Points' and 'Love is blonde'} but I think lighter and darker shades can be created with these for your hair colour, e.g. heavier strokes for darker hair colours and light faint strokes for those of you with more fair hair colours.

When you first hear someone say 'brow pen' you may think its quite scary because the idea of putting pen in your eyebrows is quite odd, but with practice and if you use light strokes you can achieve a very natural look because, although the tint looks like a felt tip, it is a tiny brush with very fine bristles, or you can build it up to be bolder and darker if that's what you want to do.

Application:

I start with the pen end and lightly outline my eyebrows and fill in some 'bald spots' mostly at the end of my eyebrows.

I then take the pencil end and colour lightly over the rest of my eyebrows. Because of its waxy formula, the pencil is perfect for taming some of the longer hairs.
After i've filled it all in, I use a spooley brush to comb my eyebrows into shape because I have quite long eyebrow hairs so they tend to get a bit wild.

Overall I highly recommend this Product because it's super long lasting and you get a decent amount of amazing quality product for the price you pay.

Okay sorry for this being such a long post but I had a lot to say about this product! I understand that this type of brow product is not for everyone because its unusual but it depends on the type of product you use, personally I can't get enough of it.

Thanks for reading!
Alice

P.s. I would have inserted pictures of the process of application but my eyebrows are due a thread and are currently quite out of control so I thought I would leave it!
